Filmed over ten years, Zach’s Ceremony was my feature length directing debut following a young boy, Zach Doomadgee, and his transition to manhood through the ancient right of passage. The documentary was well received by audiences from around the world and premiered at Hot Docs Documentary Film Festival in 2016. The film received multiple awards and nominated for Best Director at Australian Directors Guild Awards and Best Feature Length Documentary at AACTA Awards and Film Critics Circle of Australia Awards.
