Wet. Warm. Dribble. (Short Film)
Director — Film
On a special night, a girl gives her heart to a boy. It’s real. It’s beating. It feels right. She soon discovers that love can be a bloody mess. But love can also be intoxicating, especially for a girl who’s prepared to give her heart away, sparking a night to remember. As the excitement begins to fade, true intentions become misunderstood.
Wet. Warm. Dribble. is a 12-minute short film that I directed, produced by Sarah Linton, and written by Sally Muul. The film was shot over two days in late 2018 in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville and premiered in February 2019 at the Melbourne International Film Festival.

Creating a silent film presented unique challenges, but these were overcome through strong direction, a compelling visual narrative supported by music, and onscreen text. The film stars Sana’a Shaik (Sunny) in the lead role. Sana’a has also featured in a Netflix feature film and the recent Dive Club series.
Wet. Warm. Dribble. has been screened at film festivals around the world and has garnered acclaim, including a Best Actress award for Sana’a Shaik at the Bangalore Film Festival. The film’s success highlights the power of visual storytelling and the emotional depth that can be achieved without dialogue.
